Traditional dress & textiles

- • The mekhela chador — a two-piece drape, often in muga silk — is widely worn by women at festivals
- • The gamosa, a white cotton towel with red borders, is used as a mark of respect across communities
- • Men wear dhoti with a chador or seleng for ceremonies; Bodo, Karbi and Mishing communities have their own weaves such as the dokhona
